Screaming at me to stop taking his photoOh I hate this age. Hate it. What happened to my sweet boy? He has turned into the biggest butthead! Could it be that it took 8 months for him to realize Charlie isn't going to go away and he's just now acting out? The fits are horrible, he talks back, hits the baby, and throws things at Grandma! Try and put him in time out and he laughs, then kicks everything within reach. I'm embarrassed to say I have swatted his behind a few times, but he thought that was funny too. The parents as teachers woman told me to stick to logical consequences....hmmm, can I get a list of those somewhere? And what if he doesn't care about the consequence? I am so lost.
Anyone want to buy a 3 yr old?

He's becoming a little boy and starting to show his independence. Fortunately this too shall pass, just have patience.
Oh my goodness, Laura- this is SO normal. The three's are DEFINITELY worse than the two's and I sympathize! My successes and failures typically revolved around one thing; consistency or lack thereof. Lately, I've been trying to discipline immediately- before I have a chance to get mad, rather than letting them push my buttons for half an hour and then dealing with it when I'm angry. That's been working out pretty well. I did explain the new system first so they were warned fairly ahead of time though which I'm sure they appreciated...
